State scholarships give TWU grad students boost toward accounting careers

Delainee Gibson and Danielle Hendrix took a step closer to coveted careers in the accounting world, thanks to scholarships from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. The scholarships will help the two Texas Woman’s graduate students in finishing their accounting degrees and sitting for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Accounting gives TWU alum forum for growing next-gen workers

Texas Woman's alumnus Tim Pike was recently named chair of the board of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Pike sees his involvement with TXCPA as a moral obligation. The accounting profession has given him a lot. He wants to return the favor. 

Graduate says college experience was business degree bonus

Brooke Morlet is graduating from Texas Woman’s University in December with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of Business. In January, she’ll start a new job as a tax staff accountant with a regional accounting firm in Dallas. For the last two years, TWU professors and her mentor have guided and lifted Morlet to heights that she didn’t think were possible. 

TWU COB alum finds success in crunching numbers

It took just one accounting class and Caryn Riggs was in love. In love with numbers, that is. They made sense. They were logical to her. The Texas Woman’s University alumna came from a family of educators, and the original plan was to be a teacher. That detour in accounting led Riggs to a rewarding career in finance and accounting.
