What Do I Need to Complete Before Attending Orientation?

In order to make your orientation the best possible experience, we ask that each student has completed the following items:

Set up your TWU Pioneer Portal account

A Pioneer Portal account is required for all TWU students, faculty and staff to access the network and university systems.

Students may create a Portal account 3–5 business days after applying to TWU through ApplyTexas.org, using the TWU Student ID you receive by email.

Set Up MFA in Google and Microsoft

TWU has implemented multi-factor authentication for various systems across the university. You will be required to enable all MFA (Google 2-Step Verification and Microsoft 365 MFA) to create and access Pioneer Portal and set up your TWU Gmail account. Follow these steps to enable the MFA 2-step verification for access to your TWU Gmail and Microsoft accounts:

Register for First-Year Student Orientation.

Apply for financial aid and scholarships

  • Submit the
